Trying to find the correct bra size for most women can be troublesome. It is estimated that 80% of most women are wearing the wrong bra size. Basically, this equates to 8 out of 10 women are wearing bras that do not fit them properly. Before we get started on how to measure properly, it is best to wear a bra that is most comfortable on you something that is not going to minimize or has padding. By the time you finish reading this, you will be able to purchase a bra that will fit you like a glove!
The first step is to measure your band size which is the number portion and NOT the letter cup size. To start, measure under your arms, high on your back and across your chest. If this measurement is an even number, than this is your band size. However, if this is an odd number add 1” to determine your band size.
Now to measure your cup size, measure loosely around the fullest part of your bust. Next, subtract your band size from your bust measurement; each inch represents a cup size. For example, if your band measurement is 34” and your bust measurement is 36”, the difference between these measurements is two inches and you would wear a B cup.
You know you have found the perfect fit when your breasts feel like they are sitting in the cups, you will not feel any underwire pinching and your bra will feel comfortable and supportive. There are times where you will have to go up a cup size or two, do not let this bother you as sizes vary among brands. Keep in mind, finding the right bra takes time and patience but once you find the perfect bra it will be worth ALL your effort!
